I recently had the pleasure of photographing a special 7th birthday celebration at McDonald's in Lucban. The venue was filled with the excitement and laughter of children enjoying the festivities, and I was determined to capture every precious moment.
As I set up my Fujifilm camera, I couldn't help but be inspired by the vibrant colors and happy faces surrounding me. The mixed lighting conditions posed a bit of a challenge, with transparent window walls letting in natural light and tungsten lighting adding a warm glow to the room. However, I knew that with the right settings and a little creativity, I could make it work to my advantage.
I decided to experiment with the Film Simulation feature on my Fujifilm camera, which allowed me to replicate the look and feel of classic film photography. This added a timeless quality to the images, enhancing the nostalgic atmosphere of the birthday celebration.
Despite the weather outside, which was rainy and gloomy, I took advantage of a break in the clouds to sneak outside with the birthday boy for a quick photo session. The natural light was soft and flattering, creating a beautiful backdrop for our impromptu shoot.
To overcome the challenges of the mixed lighting conditions inside the venue, I relied on my off-camera flash to balance out the different light sources. This helped me achieve a more even and natural-looking exposure in my photos, ensuring that every detail was captured perfectly.
After the shoot, I transferred my images to Capture One Pro for post-processing. This powerful editing software allowed me to fine-tune the colors, contrast, and exposure of each photo, bringing out the best in every shot.
