Norden’s first birthday was held at NEHA, Calmar Subdivision in Lucban, Quezon. The setup was cozy, family-centered, and full of life — exactly how first birthdays should feel. But nature had its own plans. A storm rolled in that day, bringing strong winds and on-and-off rainfall just as the celebration got going.
Despite the weather, the energy never dipped. Guests showed up ready to celebrate, kids kept playing, and everyone just rolled with it. There was an inflatable slide that became the main attraction for the little ones — rain or not, they kept lining up for another turn.
Lighting was tricky. The venue had ambient lights that didn’t work well with skin tones, so I placed two key lights at the front to keep everything natural and consistent. It helped bring back the color accuracy during key moments like the family portraits, cake blowing, and the warm, candid scenes in between.
This session reminded me that not everything has to be perfect for moments to feel real. The weather was rough, but the mood stayed light, and the love for Norden was steady all throughout. Storm or not, the memories were worth capturing — and that's exactly what we did.
